A "real" user is not the average user. It can be a lot below the average. Another thing to mention is that despite the changes being huge (but not really that huge), the learning curve is smaller that switching to the Mac or Linux for example.

You may figure out how to quickly launch the browser and a couple of apps on the Mac, but you'll need months to get used to it and know the few times per month used functionality.
