The anthropomorphic delusion about LLMs being a coherent entity, with memory and continuity (which is also a delusion even when it comes to humans), quickly evaporates when you realize that each message in a chat is a completely separate stateless API request, and the only trick fueling the illusion is that the previous messages are sent to the server along with your new message. So AGI or not, it’s just a process that exists literally for the duration of one API request.

I've written two QA skills for our app: 1) flow discovery, and 2) e2e implementation.

The first one scans the app and detects critical flows, happy paths, unhappy paths, invariants. Writes an invariant matrix across app domains and surfaces, and maps acceptance criteria to each.

The second actually implements the flows as e2e tests (Playwright for web, Maestro for mobile). Tests are run locally before a PR is submitted, with a video recording. The video + screenshots are posted in the PR body. A rule in CLAUDE.md says "No PR w/o visual evidence!".

CI runs the suite depending on touched code.

It's nice to lay back and watch the runner click through your app.

After they acquired Meetup.com, subscription prices skyrocketed while nothing useful was added to the product.

29€ a month just to host a meetup page with RSVPs.

Was anything else needed to be added to the product?

I was fine with meetup.com in its original form: it had the community of people wanting to go to events, it let you share your events to these people. People showed up to events.

And the price you pay is for you to access their users. If you think it's just an RSVP page, vibe code one in 5 minutes and try and see how many people will show up to your events.

It's a modern product development failure to think that you must be adding new features all the time. "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."

Can the same engine be extended to Pali for Buddhist suttas?

Yes. The dhammapada uses a lot of Anushthubh chandas, which is an option in the website. However, the language differences between pali and sanskrit are enough to make TTS trip up. E.g only one "s" variant, and karma -> kamma, etc,. If you finetuned on pali a little bit it should work fine.

I've looked into replacing Lima with Apple Containers for https://runmachine.dev.

However, unlike Lima, an Apple Container is not a full VM, so you cannot SSH to it, or forward SSH-agent signatures into a machine.

So it's more of a devcontainer story, which is also a great use case. Nice to see Apple creating tooling around their VZ framework.
