I've worked at call centers and contact centers whatever the hell you wanna call them places for 15+ years. have you legit never heard the term phone tree before? I'm on the east coast in case its a regional thing, that's like literally what my dad who wasn't an uneducated person called them. totally just curious here!
As someone who almost never plays video games but owns several CRTS for the sake of media I can attest to the fact that at least some of us purely own CRT's for their picture quality, or in my case the fact that I think pre 2000's 4:3 media was also kind of intended to be watched on screens like that (much in the same way I see video gamers arguing)
I'll take a wild guess though that my group (crt media watchers) is slightly less easy to take advantage of with actual hardware than video gamers which I'd guess to be the reason why there are few articles or HOLY GRAIL crt's like this fw900 widescreen in the media watching community. Not that we aren't often suckers for things like ORIGINAL VINTAGE POSTERS and SEALED MEDIA lol.
I think we overstate how interesting people are in general. Maybe those people would've just been boring and consumed media in ways you don't seem to approve of sober otherwise?
I think you miss subtlety in the post you're reacting to.
Weed makes consumption more enjoyable, therefore you consume more than you'd consume without weed, at the opportunity cost of doing other things. Which in general makes you more boring.
I've been around stoner friends a lot (for most of them it was a phase in life which they got out of before ~30) - no matter how boring / interesting they were before / after weed, during their weed days they were more boring than during their non-weed years. Weed makes you content just sitting at home while otherwise you'd rather seek some excitement outside.
More so I just don't get why people need to please you or this guy with our interests? All sorts of peoples lives seem maybe not FUN to me because they don't have the same risk tolerance as me as an example but I don't think their lives are "boring". I think maybe they didn't spend as much time as me smoking PCP on traincars as a teenager!
People might have other experiences than you lol! Maybe someone finds watching sitcoms stoned while knitting to be the most rewarding thing in the world? Maybe they think the things you're doing are boring? It's odd to judge what people find exciting in life.
Whataboutism doesn't change the fact feral cats, or domestic cats going feral are significant pests in many parts of the world. My argument is about advocating responsible pet ownership of small predators that can easily stray and become an environmental problem.
Sure, but I've definitely never met one who was angry about their government pay, paid college, or allmost fully government sponosered healthcare, they're angry about HOW these things are enacted more than anything else for the most part not that they're being offered to them in general like the majority of the public would benefit from as well.
The point is that it's never executed well. Socialism sounds great on paper when people are perfect. But they are not. They never will be. It will therefore never be "done the right way this time" and we will keep using it as an excuse to worsen peoples' livelihoods equally, decrease peoples' income with which they decide what they want to use to pay for, and to put down dissidents. As it always has.

I can't imagine arguing or thinking seriously that the majority of computers exist even "effectively" to only hurt us in some way. By computer did you actually mean some sort of antique ball torture device? I won't argue that the companies that control and make these devices aren't evil and responsible for some pretty awful things but it's really odd to argue that most users are "hurting" themselves by using the devices they use.
I promise they would consider having the type of full control and responsibility you're describing as far more harmful and annoying than anything those big 4 could accomplish to them individually.
depends on the transience I guess of the people that goto them, when I was homeless at least and went to places like this in a large city many of the people were drug addicts from smaller towns or literal hobos who were there for the sake of I assume cheap drugs and social services likes food banks.
