I'm fairly concerned that at some point in the future is will be almost zero-cost to include eSIM with devices and we'll have virtually no way to prevent devices from working as discovery for advert targeting.
Office 2003 is a terrible example, office is a product that deliberately makes one part worse on each "upgrade" so that the consumer has a reason to upgrade to another release.
That's why it specifies 2003, that's about the point when Office had all the features and usability one needs. The Office versions after that are worse.
PCWorld in 2009 declined to split the laptop and OS. They offered to refund the whole purchase, but that would obviously leave me without a laptop.
Utterly pointless waste of time. If I see a vendor offering Linux/FreeDOS, I buy that.
If you've had any success in the UK getting a refund, please correct me, but I think time is probably better spent writing to the MP about it as the consumer should have choice when the options are MS or Apple.
Fine, but you have the invest in the CPU to determine if the payment was made. That's a cost on you, not the scraper. If the scraper bangs on that payment door 1000x you've spent a fair chunk of CPU looking for valid cookies, query the redis/valkey and DB to manage payment auth.
You're not wrong, it is time the scraper pays, but you're going to have to fund it still.

I want a perfect solution that is free, putting pages up used to be free, now it isn't.
Delivery isn't the problem, just people don't use mail as much as they used to. Most people reach for signal or whatsapp to communicate. Most mail is order confirmations. So don't really care if people can't get mail, it isn't the primary communication tool for most people like it used to me.
Mods were useful to share music mafe with samples, however midi files could be played on a browser and were thus more common as asset for a website although nearly everybody hated it when a website would automatically play a midi file.
Yep for the web they worked better. I don't remember midi files getting as close to popular music as mods did. Then mp3 happened and you could download an MP3 in about quarter of an hour in that era. You could hear a midi though in the browser, but mod wasn't as convenient.
As owner from Red-Hat and Linux contributor since 1998, IBM isn't certainly blocked by choice, they also have Linux for the same architecture, which Aix customers could switch to and don't.
